Yesterday, I visited Onjuku, a fishing town on the Pacific coast. It’s circa 90 minutes away from Tokyo by train, and on the way there, there are several rice fields, and small villages surrounded by green mountains. This was a very welcomed change of scenery from Tokyo.
Onjuku is very small, and there’s not much to see, but it had a very relaxed atmosphere, a lovely beach packed with surfers and it’s easy to imagine it filled with tourists in the summer.
