Fish Farm Thai Restaurant - Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia

Just 10 kilometres away from Kuala Lumpur city centre (KLCC), immersed in the jungle there’s a nice Fish Farm Thai Restaurant.  It's set in a small valley with a lake and it gives you a feel of being in Thailand or Indonesia rather than Malaysia. The menu is a mix of Thai and Malay dishes and the fresh seafood is the prime reason why anyone should visit. It’s also possible to buy fresh vegetables and fruits that are grown in the farm (bananas, papayas, pineapples).

The restaurant is frequented mostly by locals but there are a few expatriates as well. If you are planning to go with children I strongly recommend a visit during lunch time. The restaurant caters for kids (some non-spicy chicken dishes) who can also feed the fish. The fish food bags cost RM2, as the lake is full of diferent species of fish it’s a great experience for the little ones. There are also a lot of monkeys jumping up and down the trees nearby.

A visit to the Fish Farm Thai is worth for the entire experience rather than just for the food, which is in any case great!

The rainy season has started in Malaysia. Intense rain and thunder has engulfed Kuala Lumpur yesterday for a couple of hours. But even during the storm the heat prevails…and as sudden as it starts it’s also gone without a trace. The great wonders of living in the tropics.

Pasar Pudu Market - Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia

I’m a huge fan of street markets! I love the hustle and bustle, the sellers promoting their products loudly and the array of products available.  The Pasar Pudu Market in Kuala Lumpur doesn’t disappoint! Fresh vegetables, fish, meat, spices all on display and cheaper than at any supermarket.

This is a local food market and I didn’t see any tourists or expatriates nearby. Maybe that’s because they sell some items that might shock the more sensitive. They have small sharks, frogs on little cages that you can either buy alive or already cleaned, as well as some bull heads.

The atmosphere at the Marini's on 57 Bar is vibrant and trendy! There are a lot of locals and expatriates, the DJ has a great selection of lounge dance music and there’s an impressive list of drinks and cocktails. Nonetheless, the impressive views of the Petronas Twin Tower and Kuala Lumpur from the Marini’s 57^th floor are just reason enough to visit it! Again…and again!
